BaoActive – Pure Hibiscus Powder

Hibiscus Powder is made from the trumpet-shaped flower-calyx of the plant Hibiscus sabdariffa. Often called Roselle, it has been widely used across Africa and the Asia for both its culinary and health enhancing properties. It is suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets and is certified organic, halal and kosher.

Hibiscus is an excellent source of Vitamin B3 and B6, polyphenols and flavonoids and acts as a powerful antioxidant. Hibiscus may be helpful in reducing hypertension, lowering cholesterol and fat accumulation. Hibiscus contains iron which helps relieve fatigue and improve cognitive health.

Our hibiscus powder is a deep-pink fuschia colour with a refreshing raspberry-like flavour.

Hibiscus powder can be used in the preparation of herbal drinks, hot and cold beverages, fermented drinks, wine, jam, ice cream, chocolates, puddings and cakes. It is also used to add a rich red colour to foods and beverages.
